Events & Fund Raisers - 2009/2010
This year is our 25th Anniversary and we have some great events planned so we hope
you join us!

We started the year off with a
Mingling with Margaritas cocktail party that allowed
prospective members to have some fun while they learned about Zonta. We hope the ladies
will consider membership or become ongoing supporters. This event was held on
July 29,
2009
at Grammy Rose's Bed & Breakfast in Washington..This year we added additional fun
with a Purse Auction and raised over $800 for our service fund!

Our annual
Amelia Earhart Dinner was held on February 3, 2010. At this event we
honored one outstanding junior girl from all 15 high schools in Washington County for their
community service. Each young woman receives a $200 savings bond and one is awarded
the Exemplary Service Award receiving a $1000  bond. We are glad to recognize the
accomplishments of young women in Washington County and hope these wonderful young
ladies will go on to become Zontians in the future.

Our
3rd Annual Road Rally/Scavenger Hunt had to be postponed until May 15th due to
weather but we hope the word continues to spread about what a fun time this event is! We
hope to have even more teams this year. Be sure to look at the announcement and details
on our home page
!

On April 25th 2010
we will hold our Rose Day Celebration, where we will honor deserving
women from Washington County for their outstanding  achievements. We will also be
honoring a non-traditional Nursing student from Washington Hospital, who will receive a
$1000 scholarship. T
his year's Rose Day will also highlight the clubs 25th
Anniversary
, making this a very special celebration and event! The event, a Sunday
brunch, will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Southpointe. Please marki your calendars and
plan to attend! (details will be coming soon)

We hope to pick up momentum again on our current International Project which has us
assembling 1000 birthing kits for delivery to undeveloped countries. This will help save the
lives of many women in these countries that die in childbirth due to unsanitary conditions.

Lastly, the major focus of our club this year will again be to acquire foundation status. We
believe this will help us with our fund raising effort and will allow us to do even more for
women in Washington County and around the world. If you're interested in supporting us for
this effort, please contact us via the Contact Us page on the left or via mail at Zonta Club of
Washington, PO Box 1035, Washington Pa. 15301.

Thank you all for your support!
